As part of a large State Government grants programme for Sports Clubs, the Wide Bay Motor Complex has been awarded $100,000 to go towards the construction of stage one of the complex, the construction of the off-road track. A further $7450 was secured to enable the purchase of water barriers and a trailer.

"The smaller grant will allow us to purchase a trailer and a set of water barriers to be used for marking parking areas and the like, the larger grant, pending us successfully lodging our development application in the new year will allow us to build Stage One of the complex", Mr Collingwood said.

"Whilst it is only a 'small' amount, this funding will allow us to initiate the site during early 2017 and from here, we can only grow bigger! We always need more support and we encourage everyone to become a financial member, grab a calendar from the local stockists or even secure a Foundation Membership from just $250."
