WIDE BAY MOTOR COMPLEX Evolution Electrical Rallysprint EVENT SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS This event will be a Gravel Rallysprint known as the Evolution Electrical Rallysprint hereafter referred to as “the event”. The Event will be conducted under the National Competition Rules (NCRs) of the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA), these Supplementary Regulations, and any further regulations and bulletins which may be issued. By entering this event, you agree to comply with these regulations. First car will start at 10:00 and thereafter at a minimum of two-minute intervals. Competition will cease no later than 18:00 with a presentation of awards following as soon as possible. Event Format: There will be two (2) gravel stages of approx. 6 km in length, that will be run a minimum four (4) times each. A road book for each stage will be supplied. Entries: Entries open on publication of these regulations and close at 18:00hrs Saturday 24th February 2024 Entries will be capped at 20. Entry numbers may be altered at the discretion of the organisers. Entry Fee: The entry fee is $275 incl gst. per driver (max 2 drivers per car) and must be paid by Direct Deposit: Bank: BOQ. Indemnity forms are also available on the web site and must be completed and returned to the event secretary before the close of entries. Licences: This event is open to those competitors holding a current AASA General Speed Event or Gravel Rally Licence. Juniors wishing to compete must be 14 yrs of age and hold the a AASA Junior General Speed Licence. Day Licences are available www.aasa.com.au Motorsport Australia licences are no longer accepted. Classes: Rear Wheel Drive, Front Wheel Drive, Four Wheel Drive Buggies (both 4wd and 2wd) Juniors Trophies: Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each class. Where there are less than 3 entries in the class, only 1st will be awarded. Abandonment: The organisers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event if a minimum of 10 entries are not reached, or due to inclement weather. In both these instances your entry fee will be refunded in full. Insurance: Personal Accident Insurance is provided under the AASA permit. Details can be found at www.aasa.com.au Apparel: Each crew member’s apparel must conform to AASA, NCR Appendices, Appendix 4 - Apparel Requirements Policy, 5.2 Speed Events and Drifting - General Speed. (Non- flammable apparel that covers the person from mid-neck to wrist to ankles). Although not mandatory, Frontal Head Restraints (FHR) such as HANS are strongly recommended. Apparel will be visually checked by the Control Officials before each car starts. Vehicle Requirements: Vehicles must comply with the AASA National Competition Rules (NCRs) that can be found at www.aasa.com.au. Each vehicle must:
An in-car distance measuring device (trip meter) accurate to 1 metre is strongly recommended. Scrutiny: Scrutiny will start at 07:30 in the refuel bay area. Vehicles that do not pass scrutiny will not be allowed to start until the defects noted have been repaired. If your vehicle fails scrutiny, no refund of entry fee will be given. Documentation: Documentation will commence at 08:00. All competitors must present their licences to the Event Secretary for inspection. Crew: The crew will consist of a driver and co-driver holding the applicable licences. Running without a co-driver is only permitted in single seat buggies. Passengers are not permitted. Unlike previous events, minimal arrows will be used with an emphasis on co-driver participation. Service Crew: All service crew members must be registered on the official entry form. Refuelling: Refuelling must only be carried out in the designated area and any person involved must wear non-flammable clothing and closed shoes. The closest pump fuel is 5 minutes away at the BP in Granville. Fuel must only be stored in 20L containers that meet AS1940/AS/NZS2906 or higher in order to comply with OH&S requirements and the Dangerous Goods Act 1985. Timing: Electronic timing equipment will be used. It is the competitors’ responsibility to be on time at the start controls and penalties may apply for late arrival. Protests: These events are fun events and No protests will be entered into. Smoking: Smoking in the Service Area is prohibited, a smoking area will be designated Facilities: Toilets and hot showers are available. Free camping (non-powered) is available on-site from Friday lunch time. Catering: TBA. Rubbish: All visitors to the site are responsible for the removal of their own rubbish. Drugs and Alcohol: Consumption of alcohol by drivers, co- drivers or crew is forbidden prior to the completion of the event in accordance AASA National Competition Rules (NCRs), Schedule 3 – List of Prohibited Substances & AASA Supplementary Regulations – Rally Sprint, 14 – Drugs & Alcohol. All competitors must not have a blood alcohol reading above 0.01 All competitors and Officials are advised that random drug and alcohol testing may take place during the event. Any driver or crew found to be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs during the event will be excluded from the event and further penalties may be imposed in accordance with the NCRs. By entering this event, you agree to comply with these regulations. EVENT: Total Auto Services Khanacross Rd 1 DATE(S): Sunday 3 rd March 2024 VENUE: WIDE BAY MOTOR COMPLEX 271 Maryborough- Cooloola rd Boonooroo Plains Event will be held on dirt / gravel surface consisting of 2 tests max distance of each will be no more than 2 km with a minimum of 3 runs each. The compulsory drivers meeting begins at 9.00 am at SITE OFFICE. Anyone failing to attend must present to the Clerk of Course or risk exclusion from the event. Please see section 8 for details of track activities. All track activity will cease at 3.30pm 1. ENTRIES 1.1. Entries are now open and will close on 24/2/24 at 6pm. Driver’s apparel shall be as specified in AASA Appendix 4 Apparel Requirements for Speed Events – Club 5 VEHICLE AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS 5.1. Vehicles must comply with the AASA NCR’s and the AASA Event Operations Manual. 5.2. Vehicles must be competition ready with all loose items removed from the vehicle. 6 SCRUTINY 6.1. Scrutiny will begin at 8am Sunday. In the scrutineering area with particular attention to Fire extinguishers and battery security. 6.2. Vehicles entered in the competition must have passed scrutiny prior to participating in any track activities. Scrutiny will be as per section 9 of the AASA Event Operations Manual. 6.3. Current competition licences and full driving apparel must be presented at scrutiny. If your vehicle has been issued with a Vehicle Passport, this must be presented at Scrutiny as well. Vehicles which suffer damage must be re-examined before entering the track again. 7 PASSENGERS 7.1. Passengers will be allowed (apparel to drivers standard as per Section 4 and a signed disclaimer), all juniors 12 -14 years must have suitably licensed passenger. 8 EVENT FORMAT The total times will determine the class places. Classes are: 8.1. junior 12- 16 . Juniors in Four wheel drive vehicles are not eligible for trophies in this class. 8.2. Seniors 17 - 99 8.3. Trophies for 1st , 2nd and 3rd in each class. 8.4. Timing will be ecteronic 8.5. Timing will be to the 10th of a second 8.6. Event start will be a soft start ( no wheel spin) +5 sec penalty will apply . 8.7. Timing starts when the vehicle’s wheels start to turn. 8.8. Timing stops when front of vehicle enters finish garage. 8.9. Penalty for touching a garage or course marker +5 seconds/marker 8.10. Penalty for finishing test part way out of garage +10 seconds 8.11. Penalty for incomplete test, finishing completely outside of garage or wrong direction-slowest time in class plus 5 seconds. 8.12. The driver must start each test with the entire vehicle inside the start/finish garage ( 3m x 8m with markers . 8.13. The driver must finish each test with the entire vehicle stopped inside the start/finish garage 8.14. The driver must complete each test in a forward direction. 8.15. Course and garage markers shall be traffic cones, tyres or bollards. 8.16. Event officials will be deemed judges of fact and no correspondence will be entered into 9 FACILITIES 9.1. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Toilets and showers are available. 10 NOISE 10.1. The maximum noise limit is 95db measured at 30 metres. 10.2. Noise testing may take place at any time at the discretion of the Chief Scrutineer or the Clerk of Course. Any car found to exceed the maximum noise emission limit will be suspended from the event until the Chief Scrutineer / Clerk of Course is satisfied that action has been taken to bring it within the limit. Any vehicle that exceeds the limit on two runs will be excluded from the remainder of the event. If a vehicle exceeds the noise limit on any lap or laps within a run then only those laps in which the vehicle conformed to the requirements will be allowed for the purpose of the results. 11 SMOKING 11.1. Smoking in the pit areas is prohibited. Smoking areas will marked out 12 DRUGS & ALCOHOL 12.1. Consumption of alcoholic liquor by drivers or pit crew is forbidden prior to the completion of the meeting in accordance with Schedule 3 of the NCRs. All drivers must have a BAC below 0.01. 13 DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING 13.1. All competitors and officials are advised that random drug and alcohol testing may take place during the competition. 13.2. Any driver or crew member being found to be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs during the event will be excluded from the event, and further penalties may be imposed in accordance with the NCRs. 14: FUEL 14.1: Pump fuel only may be used, Fuel can only be stored in 20 litre fuel drums or containers that meet AS1940/AS/NZS2906 or higher in order to comply with OH&S requirements and the Dangerous Goods Act 1985. There is a maximum of 2 x 20 litre containers per bay at any one time. 14.2: Refuelling may take place outside of garages. All drivers, crew, and passengers must be outside of the vehicles while refuelling. A crew member should be on stand-by holding a fire extinguisher during the refuelling process. 15: PROTESTS 15.1: Any protest must be lodged with the Clerk of Course in accordance with the NCR’s. 16: OTHER REGULATIONS 1: All vehicles to have a fire extinguisher of at least 1kg capacity, which complies to AS 1841 using a metal mounting bracket and must be securely bolted to floor or transmission tunnel. Extinguisher(s) must be within 3 years of the manufacturers date stamped on the neck or base . 2: Be mechanically sound with no fluid leaks, have functioning brakes on all 4 wheels and have correctly operating steering and suspension. 3: Seats must be mounted securely with correct bolts 8 mm 8.8 tensile strength. 4: Be structurally sound ( no structure rust or damage ) 5: Be fitted with lap-sash seat belts of AS E35 or approved race harnesses. Belts/ harnesses must attach to factory mounting points or approved anchor points using correct eye bolts. 6: Have on the body work ,a blue triangle of sides 150 mm indicating position of battery. 7: Have the positive battery terminal covered with suitable insulating material to prevent short circuit. 8: Have the battery well secured ,and where a wet battery is fitted inside the cabin ,be mounted in a sealed enclosure with an external vent. 9: Have sealed fire wall/s separating the engine /fuel tank/pumps/filters from the passenger compartment. 10: Have no sharp or hazardous protrusions within the passenger compartment. 11: Bonnets to be fitted with at least 2 independent fastening systems which hold the bonnet closed. ( OEM latch & catch or 2 bonnet pins are acceptable ) 12: A solid towing point must be fitted both front and rear of vehicle if tow point is obscured it shall be marked with a red triangle and the word TOW in a contrasting colour. 13: drivers side window must be wound up or the use of a window net is recommended. 14: roll over protection is not mandatory but highly recommended ,if fitted must be to AASA /MA standard or approved by event scrutineer . 15: frontal ( HANS DEVICE ) head restraints are not mandatory but highly recommended.
